Court Clears the Way for Gay Marriage - Again

The California Supreme Court Judges cleared the way for gay marriages to start after 5 pm on June 16. Conservative groups ask the court to suspend gay marriages until after Californians have a chance to vote on the ballot measure in November that would ban same-sex marriage.

The judeges found no reason to delay marriages, and gave the "okay" to move forward later this month. If the ban on gay marriage is passed in November, it's unclear what will happen to the marriages that take place. However, polls show that the vote will be close. And that's without any campaigning.

California gay rights activists released a statement on June 4 saying they expect advocates of gay marriage will defeat the measure to ban same-sex measure, but it will take a lot of money and energy to convince people to vote in favor of equality.
