CBS Should Be Ashamed of Themselves

Canceling Adam Lambert's appearance on Good Morning America is another case of homophobia.

Good Morning America should be ashamed for their act of homophobia this week. And the gay community should be outraged.

ABC producers canceled Adam Lambert’s appearance on GMA to sing a few songs off his new CD released this week.

The reason the show canceled Lambert was because of what he did during his performance on the American Music Awards recently. During his performance, he reached over and kissed his keyboard player, who is a man. There were a few crotch moves also, but we’ve seen that multiple times with Michael Jackson and Madonna.

Officials from Good Morning America said they received 1,500 complaint calls about Lambert’s kiss and the morning show producers were afraid he might do it again on their show.

This is a station that claims to support equality for gay people and even has gays working for the station. All he did was kiss a guy, but you would think he exposed his genitals the way they are reacting.

Since the big gay kiss years ago on the Rosanne show between two women, we have seen two women and two men kiss regularly on primetime TV shows. The most recent I saw was on Brothers and Sisters.

This is a perfect example of straight people acting like they are so accepting of gays, but they don’t want to see our affection for one another. The message is that gays are equal, but don’t hold hands or kiss in public.

Guys and girls get so excited in public you want to yell out “get a room.” But if a guy kisses another guy, some act like it’s crime.

Producers at Good Morning America should be ashamed of themselves. This did nothing but give Lambert more attention. The Morning Show on CBS immediately offered him a chance to sing on their show and reporters from various TV and radio stations have been falling over themselves to interview him.

It’s time that heterosexuals who support gay rights to stop being phony and honestly give us the same freedom they take for granted.
